Early learning and care
Children receive nurturing daily routines, play-based learning, healthy meals, and a safe classroom environment.
Early Head Start helps eligible expectant families, infants, and toddlers access nurturing care, developmental support, meals, and family partnership.
How EHS Helps
Early Head Start is a federally funded program for eligible families during pregnancy and the first three years of a child's life. At Nana's Cozy Corner, EHS support pairs high-quality childcare with family partnership and developmental care.
Children receive nurturing daily routines, play-based learning, healthy meals, and a safe classroom environment.
Families may receive support with screenings, milestones, referrals, and services that help children grow with confidence.
EHS works with parents and caregivers on goals, communication, family stability, and next steps for school readiness.
Who May Qualify
Eligibility is reviewed through program guidelines, family circumstances, and available openings. A pre-screen helps Nana's team understand your situation before next steps are confirmed.
We review each family's situation with care.
Expectant families and children from birth to age 3 may be eligible.
Families receiving SNAP, TANF, or SSI may qualify, and income guidelines may apply.
Families experiencing housing instability, homelessness, foster care, or kinship care may receive priority.
Children with disabilities, delays, or additional support needs may be eligible for services.
Early Head Start services through Nana's Cozy Corner are available to families in Milwaukee zip codes 53205, 53209, 53210, 53212, and 53216.
